Arrival in Katrain which is 20km away from Manali in a quiet village where village has its own pace. Take complete rest, drink a lot of water. Bottom line is to get acclimatise. Overnight at Bashkola Base Homestay at Katrain.

Today we will take the bikes for a test ride and also try to train you on tough terrain of high mountains. For boot camp we will go to a small village called Jana which is 10km away from the homestay. Here natives sell local food. We will have lunch at Jana village itself. Road towards Jana village is broken and muddy.

This boot camp experience will help you in the ride. After the boot camp you are free for rest of the day and take your bikes to Manali town for shopping. You can ask the mechanic to adjust clutch, breaks etc. as per your requirement. Detailed briefing of the ride will take place at the hotel in the evening. Overnight at Himgiri Hotel or Homestay in Katrain.

Ride in close formation while exiting from Katrain town. Today we ride past Solang valley and world’s longest tunnel above 10000 feet Rohtang Atal tunnel and enter into Lahaul valley. Lahaul is a new emerging tourist destination. It is attracting a huge number of tourists from all around the world. We will stay at Chandra Bhaga Camps at Tandi at the height of 2850m. You can see the confluence of Chandra and Bhaga rivers from this camp site and huge Pir Panjal and CB range of Indian Himalaya.

Today we will start riding on Manali – Leh Highway. We will take a diversion towards Shinkula from a place called Darcha where we need to stop for the permission check and entry at police check post. We will cross mighty Shinkula Pass which is at the height of 5100m. It is advisable not to stay at higher pass for more than 10 minutes in order to avoid altitude mountain sickness. Overnight we stay at Dolma Cottages.

Today we will cover a long distance of 240kms towards Kargil city and also, we will explore Shankoo Budha Statue which is 10km off the main highway. We ride through Suru valley this place is famous for its agriculture. Various patches of the road are broken. We will encounter a lot of water crossing. Today we ride higher in Zanskar mountains as we cross Pensi La (4400m).  This is the highest point between Kargil and Zanskar. Throughout the journey views are brilliant.
This makes days ride long and tiring. Thus, we will start the ride early at around 7am with an early breakfast at six. For lunch we stop at small highway dhabas or restaurants wherever they are available. Overnight at Barula Hotel.

Today we will visit Hunderman Village and local market. Hunderman village was under Pakistan before 1971 Indo-Pak war. You can see Pakistan border and old abandoned village near India-Pak border. Apart from this you can explore Kargil’s local market and don’t forget to buy dry apricot from Kargil, which is very famous in Ladakh, you can buy and take it as souvenir for your family.

Today we will visit future Buddha statue near Kargil town. This spot is off the main road around 7kms. Post this visit we will cross Humbuting La 4100m. We will also touch Batalik sector near Pakistan Border. Aryan village is known for Aryan race because of their height, sharp features and blue eyes. They are said to be a genetically superior race. They are believed to descendants of
Alexander, the great. Overnight cultural program and stay at Sonam Yangzom Homestay Garkon.
