The state of Kerala located in South India is truly unique and varied. You will be close to nature with a multitude of landscapes (beaches, sea, mountains, jungle, countryside, plantations, lakes and rivers) which will unfold before your eyes, with visits to national parks, an elephant ride , a cruise on the water to discover the Backwaters. Sightseeing of Cochin with your driver in a private vehicle with a visit to the Paradesi Synagogue (one of the seven largest synagogues in the region) located in the Old Town. Then visit the Mattancherry Palace, built by the Portuguese and which tells all by itself the political history of the Cochin peninsula. For a change of atmosphere, walk to the small colorful market to buy souvenirs. In the evening, traditional Kathakali or Kalaripatayu show. Return and overnight at the hotel.
Departure for Munnar, a mountainous region of Kerala with its tea plantations. On the way, short stop to discover the magnificent Cheeyapara (or Valara) waterfalls then arrive at the hotel. Later, visit the city market. Free time. Then your choice of meal in an excellent restaurant in the market or return for dinner at the hotel.
Early in the morning, you can take the short hike organized by the hotel, in the tea plantations on the surrounding hills. The rest of the day is devoted to discovering the city of Munnar with a visit to the tea museum where you will attend the tea preparation ceremony. Visit of the great dam of Mattupetty with the possibility of taking a boat trip. Return and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Periyar, a national park in the south of Kerala. Along the way, you will discover stunning landscapes of tea and coffee plantations. This region is also known for its varieties of local spices that grow there. Visit the spice garden with a guide who will explain the spices in detail. Arrival and installation at the hotel followed by an elephant ride. Free evening.
Get up in the morning. You can then, if you wish, take a boat trip on Lake Periyar. True sanctuary for remarkable fauna, you can admire many animals (elephants, buffaloes, antelopes,) and many birds. Return to the hotel. After a good breakfast, drive to the Backwaters, a huge network of lagoons and canals with several large lakes such as Ashtamudi and Vembanad, bordered by lush nature and small authentic villages.Visit villages in the Backwaters .Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you embark on a house-boat, a traditional floating house on Lake Vembanad. Welcome by the crew with a welcome cocktail (local drink). You will have your lunch on the boat, prepared by your personal cook. You will spend an enchanting time sailing the calm waters, observing the daily life of the inhabitants. Your day will be embellished with tea and coffee served with cookies. Dinner on board.
After your breakfast on your houseboat, departure for a long drive to Kovalam, known for its beautiful beaches and Ayurvedic treatments. Arrival and installation at the hotel. In the evening, walk on the beach and visit the small markets that border it.
After breakfast, departure for the airport. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be free to visit the city with your driver.
