Starts with Tamil Nadu which is known for its architectural temples, the former French colony, the Gandhi museum in Madurai, the known temple of Shiva in Rameshwaram, the Ooty mountains with several beautiful gardens to visit.

On the other hand by the state of Karnataka which is less touristy than the other two states (Kerala and Tamil Nadu), there is enormous history in Karnataka, the caves to visit, the Mysore palace and the temples in Hassan, of Nagarhole National Parks and at the end visit the major city of Bangalore which is modern and different than other areas of Karnataka.

Day 1
Arrival at Chennai Airport:
  • Reception at the airport by our representative (usually overnight), installation and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2
Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram:
Road to Mahabalipuram passing by Kanchipuram where you will find several Hindu temples, the most famous temple of Kailasanathar taught to the god Shiva. Then to Mahabalipuram, a village located 50 km south of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, which is home to an archaeological site and temples of prime importance built under the Pallava dynasty between the 7th and 8th centuries. Visit of the magnificent Shore Temple, built from 700 to 728 under the Pallava dynasty and which owes its name to the fact that it was built by the sea, on a promontory jutting out into the Bay of Bengal. It has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1984. Then visit the Panch Rathas (or five Chariots), a set of incredible shrines where each of the five monuments of the complex resembles a chariot.
Day 3
Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry:

Stroll on Mahabalipuram beach, then continue to Pondicherry, a French colony until 1954, which has now become a small town in Tamil Nadu. Transfer to the hotel, free evening for, for example, a walk by the sea.

Day 4
Pondicherry - visit: all day:
  • Day in Pondicherry to admire the architecture and charm of the former French colony, with its tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and upscale boutiques. Visit of the famous churches and the museum on French culture in colonial times. Then drive to Auroville where you will see the famous temple dedicated to meditation: the Matrimandir. It consists of a huge golden sphere 36 meters in diameter. Its construction, undertaken in 1972, without any construction machinery, is certainly the one that required the most labor (Aurovillian and Indian). Return to Pondicherry with the visit of the markets and the discovery of the city on foot. Meal in a good little restaurant located by the sea. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5
Pondicherry - Thanjavur:
  • Departure for Thanjavur. On the way, visit the Hindu temple of Chidambaram dedicated to the god Shiva. You will admire many sculptures from the Chola period, a very old dynasty from South India. On the way, stop at Gangaikondacholapuram to visit the masterpiece of the Chola dynasty: the Brihadisvara temple (12th century) known for its large statue of “Nandi” and its exceptional architectural quality. Then drive to Chidambra, a medium-sized town known throughout India for its shrine of Natarāja, the “cosmic dancer”, one of the most famous representations of the god Shiva performing his “blessed dance”. Continue to Thanjavur and transfer to the hotel.
Day 6
Thanjavur - Trichy - Thanjavur:

Take an excursion to Trichy and visit the magnificent temples. Visit of the temple of Sriranganathaswam, the most famous of all, a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu. Return and overnight in Thanjavur.

Day 7
Thanjavur - Madurai:
  • Drive to Madurai, the second most important city and the cultural capital of the state of Tamil Nadu, known to house many temples and to be a sacred city and a Mecca of Hindu pilgrimage. Visit of the famous Hindu temple Meenakshi, dedicated to Shiva and his wife the goddess Pârvatî. This temple is known to be one of the masterpieces of Dravidian architecture and one of the most important working temples in India. Then visit the Gandhi Museum and the Nayaks Palace (dating from 1636). This palace was largely destroyed and all that remains is the courtyard and its portico, the imposing 12-meter-high pillars, the theater and numerous statues. The whole is well worth a visit. In the evening, walk to the market where you can buy your souvenirs. Return to the hotel.
Day 8
Madurai- Rameshwaram - Madurai:
  • Continue to make an excursion to Rameshwaram and visit one of the most famous temple of Shiva. Return to Madurai and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9
Madurai - Coonoor:

Heading towards Coonoor, a less touristy but very beautiful region, you have the magnificent view. Transfer to the Kurumba village resort hotel, well located, close to nature.

Day 10
Coonoor (excursion to Ooty):
Excursion to Ooty by the little train which gives you a magnificent view of the region,

 visit Ooty, walk around the lake and take a boat ride. Visit the beautiful gardens to appreciate nature and take the road to Coonoor. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 11
Coonoor - Nagarhole:
  • Road to Nagarhole, a national park located in Karnataka. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Day 12
Nagarhole: visit - all day:
  • Morning, a boat trip (coracle ride) on the Kabini river. Then go on a safari in the national park by jeep or van and discover several animals. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 13
Nagarhole - Mysore:
  • After breakfast, drive to the city of Mysore, famous for its palace (a real madness of maharajas) considered one of the most beautiful in India. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Then continue with the visit of the incredible Mysore Palace, former residence of the King of Mysore. In the evening, you will be able to attend a sound and light show that explains the history of the palace and the city of Mysore. Return and overnight at the hotel after admiring the illuminated palace.
Day 14
Mysore (excursion to Srirangapatna and Somnathapura):
  • Departure for 15 km of road to Srirangapatna, famous for the Ranganathaswamy temple founded by the chiefs of the Ganga dynasty in the 9th century. The architecture of the temple is a mixture of the Hoysala and Vijaynagara empires. Then visit the Somnathpura region known for the 13th century Chennakesava temple. Return to Mysore and visit the Devaraja Market and the Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery.
Day 15
Mysore - Belur - Halebidu - Hassan:
Departure for Hampi with a stop at Belur and Halebid, the two great cities of the Hoysala rulers where many temples stand side by side. Then visit the magnificent ancient Hindu temples in Belur, built in the 12th century. You will spend time at the most famous temple, the Temple of God Vishnu also called the Chennakeshava Temple, built in 1133. Its formidable star-shaped construction perfectly illustrates Hoysala architecture. Then visit the site of Halebidu, the capital of the Hoysala empire in the 12th century. As you stroll quietly, you will admire the beauty of the surrounding temples and gardens. You will then drive to Hassan. Transfer and overnight at the hotel.
Day 16
Hassan - Bangalore via Shravanabelagola:
  • After breakfast, drive to Hassan with a stop at Shravanabelagola and its two hills, Chandragiri and Vindhyagiri where the priest Bhadrabahu and his student Chandragupta Maurya meditated. On the Chandragiri hill, you will discover several temples of Hindu and Jain religion and a temple dedicated to Chandragupta Maurya (founder and first ruler of the Maurya Empire). On Vindhyagiri Hill, stands the monumental statue of Gomateshwara (Bahubali), considered the largest monolithic statue. This 17.7-meter statue is one of the sacred places of the Jain religion, built in the 12th century. The statue represents the motionless ascetic in meditation who begins to be covered by vegetation. Drive to Bangalore and transfer to your hotel.
Day 17
Bangalore - Departure:
    • After breakfast, drive to Bangalore International Airport for your flight.
