Your itinerary begins with Assam, visiting a major city called Guwahati. Discover the Hindu temples and take a boat trip on the Brahmaputra river. Go on an elephant back safari in Kaziranga and see a local dance performance.

Visit Cherrapunjee Falls and Caves, a place that gets too much rain all year round located in Meghalaya. A pictorial lake in Shillong with a butterfly museum, a market to buy souvenirs and visit the small village of Mawlynnong.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Guwahati:

Welcome to Guwahati. Meet and be assisted by our representative at the Airport / Railway Station & proceed to Shillong, also called “Scotland of the East” .

En route visit: Barapani (Umiam Lake), Wards Lake, Lady Hyadri Park & Botanical Garden. Arrive Shillong and check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2

Shillong – Cherrapunjee

Morning after breakfast full day excursion to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee is a small hamlet, locally known as ‘SOHRA’. Cherrapunjee is located in the southern most point of Khasi hill sharing the border of Sylhet district of Bangladesh.

You will visit Shillong Peak – It is the highest point of Shillong located in the upper Shillong. The name Shillong originated from “Leishyllong” meaning God. Elephant Falls – This majestic waterfalls in Meghalaya have three steps falls comes down in flows from different levels over the fern-covered rocks and falls into the canyon down below. The best time to visit the waterfalls is during the monsoon when it offers a breath-taking scenery.

Nohkalikai falls: This waterfall located 4 kms away from Cherrapunjee and is possibly between 1500 and 2000 feet tall, known to be the fourth longest fall in the world. Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Mawsmai Falls).

Mawsmai Cave: This 250m long cave is the major attraction for the tourists in Cherrapunjee. This cave is located 6 kms away from Cherrapunjee near to Mawsmai village. Eco Park: The Eco Park has been designed by the Meghalaya government to facilitate tourist to enjoy the ‘Green Canyons” of Sohra as well as the waterfalls that lie around it. Overnight at hotel of Cherrapunjee.

Day 3

Cherrapunjee – Shillong Local Sightseeing (Half Day) – Guwahati

Morning after the breakfast half day city tour of Shillong visiting Donbosco Museum-Acclaimed as one the finest museum in Asia on the promotion of indigenous and tribal cultures. Cathedral of Mary Help of Christian – situated in At Laitumkhrah, it is the largest Cathedral in Meghalaya attracts thousands of devotees.

And then move to Guwahati. On arrival check-in at your hotel. Evening we may enjoy Cruising experience on river Brahmaputra. Alfresco Grand Sunset Cruise – A good cruise experience on mighty Brahmaputra River for beautiful sunset view.

Overnight at hotel of Guwahati.

Day 4

Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park

After having morning breakfast, visit Mata Kamakhya Devi Temple in Guwahati and then proceed to Kaziranga National Park, the home of the “One Horned Rhinoceros” (255 Kms / 5 Hrs Drive).

Kamakhya Temple: The origin of Kamakhya Temple is pre Aryan situated atop the Nilachal Hill. It was restored by King Naranarayan of the Koch dynasty and rebuilt in its present form 1665 AD after it was destroyed by invading Mughals.

Check in at your Hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5

Kaziranga National Park

Early morning explore Western Zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of elephant. Apart from world’s endangered One-horned Rhinoceros, the Park sustains half the world’s population of genetically pure Wild Water Buffaloes, over 1000 Wild elephants and perhaps the densest population of Royal Bengal Tigers anywhere.

Kaziranga is also a bird watcher’s paradise and home to some 500 species of birds. The Crested Serpent Eagle, Palla’s Fishing Eagle, Greyheaded Fishing Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Bar-headed goose, whistling Teal, Bengal Florican, Storks, Herons and Pelicans are some of the species found here.

We will return to the resort for breakfast. Afternoon we have arranged a jeep safari through the Central Zone of the National Park. Evening come back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 6

Kaziranga to Guwahati

Transfer from Kaziranga to Guwahati (5 hrs approx).

Afternoon Guwahati Sightseeing – Visit Srimanta Shankardev Kalakhetra, Handicrafts & Handloom Emporium.

Evening come back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
